‘Tis the season! While a lot of you have already started decorating for the holidays—Christmas came way early this year!—or will start soon after Thanksgiving, we have some great advice to kick your decor up a notch to make it classy and stylish for when you inevitably have people over for a holiday party, Christmas morning, and everything in between. Impress your guests (and your neighbors!) with these tree-mendously chic decoration ideas!
Go With White or Gold Lights
Colorful lights have had their time. Decorate with white or gold lights (on the tree, the inside of your home, outside, etc.) for a more elegant and pulled-together look.
Give Your Christmas Tree a Theme
Instead of hanging up the 200+ ornaments you’ve collected over the last decade, give your tree a refresh by going with just color-coordinated simple ornaments that also match the tinsel, lights, and star.
Use Quality Fresh And/Or Faux Greenery
All homes could use a touch of green indoors, especially during the colder months when, well, there’s not much greenery outside at all—plus, green is a holiday color after all!
Decorate Your Door With a Wreath
There’s no better way to welcome people into your home than with a stunning wreath! Choose one that’s not too over-the-top but still makes a statement—or make your own!
Use Ornaments As Props Throughout the House
Ornaments aren’t just for the tree! Gather a few (make sure they match your theme or are color-coordinated!) in a bowl to display in various rooms throughout your home.
Exterior Lights
Shameless plug here… we just decorated the exterior of our home for the holidays and are loving how it turned out! We went with some minimal lights on the roof, lighted garlands around the columns, and sealed the deal with a lighted wreath over our entryway.
