If home is where the heart is, then the front door must be where you fall in love! The entrance to a home is obviously where you and your guests will get the first impression, so making sure it amazes right from the get-go is crucial. The goal is to make it appealing to the eyes yet comfortable enough that you’ll actually want to spend time there. Here, we spotlight some of our favorite front door entrances from our past custom homes.
We love the contrast of wood + stone over here at Urban Building Solutions! A rustic stone front porch immediately catches the eye and provides a gorgeous focal point for this home—plus it acts as a neutral base for colorful patio furniture.
It’s all in the details! Peep the stunning wood ceiling on this front porch that adds a cool factor you don’t typically see every day. An attractive lighting fixture also seals the deal—and don’t forget to decorate the space with lots of plants to bring the outdoors in!
We love the way this front porch turned out! As you can see, we shifted the dedicated porch area off to the side to allow for more space to put outdoor furniture and create a cozy vibe ideal for relaxing and people-watching. The cutouts are a nice touch as well!
Wooden columns are a cool feature that really make a statement on a home entryway. Here we went with a different colored finish for the columns and the door, but you could also match them up to streamline the look. Also peep the neat light fixtures!
A home with the front door on the second level needs some serious spiffing up to draw eyes to it. Here, we set the door back a smidge from the walls on either side to create depth, and added enough room for not one, but two (!) porch swings. Talk about an oasis! The wooden details on the staircase help to draw the eye in as well.
